Volunteer with Us

We can't meet our mission without you.

Volunteers are an enormous asset to both of our farms, and we truly couldn’t meet our mission without them. From planting and harvesting, to weeding and field preparation, volunteers are hard at work almost every day and assist with nearly every aspect of our farm operation.

Roll Up Your Sleeves

We welcome individuals and groups of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

All first time volunteers will receive an educational tour as part of their volunteer experience that gives an overview of our agricultural operation and food access initiatives across Richmond.

We do our best to accommodate each request, however, volunteer slots are limited and volunteers are taken on a first come, first serve basis. If you’re having a hard time scheduling with us, please take a look at some of the other volunteer-led initiatives working to improve food access in Richmond.

Though we love welcoming volunteers of all ages, please note that we are a working farm and most farm tasks are not appropriate for children under 6 years old. Young children can observe and explore, but may not be able to fully participate in volunteer work. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult group leader.
